The Somerset Room is named after a skipjack that my father worked on. My grandfather was captain. The room overlooks Ewell’s harbor and the Chesapeake Bay.
Imagine waking up to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, feeling the gentle breeze on your face, and opening your eyes to see the breathtaking sunrise over the horizon. As you sit down to enjoy your breakfast, you can watch the local watermen skillfully navigate their boats to harvest the day’s catch. The sight of their hard work and dedication is a testament to the strong fishing culture that has been passed down from generation to generation.
My gourmet meals consist mostly of fresh caught seafood. If you are allergic to seafood please let me know. I will arrange something delightful for your taste buds.
The seafood is caught every day by local watermen and then brought home and prepared especially for you.
Breakfast may be a seafood omelet or one of my specialty quiches, fresh baked muffins every day along with fruit and a meat.
The menu may consist of my special crab cakes, fresh flounder, or rockfish which you may know as striped bass. Soft crabs or steamed crabs are also available.
You will find a lot of different flavors of delicious cake here, the tradition one is the yellow cake with the chocolate icing, also local art work from all around the island can be seen here.
