Smith Island is located in the Chesapeake Bay about 8 miles west of the town of Crisfield. It is accessible only by boat. You can arrive via your own boat or catch one of the ferries or mail boats leaving the Crisfield City docks every day.
The Island lies between two bodies of water, the great Chesapeake Bay and Tangier Sound. There is a main thoroughfare that cuts through the center of the island allowing access from the bay or sound.

Non-vehicular ferries depart from Crisfield at 12:30 and 5:00 p.m. most days. I will take care of this for you, giving you all the information you need so that you will know which ferry to catch and where to park your car. Once aboard, the captain will take care of you and transportation to the B&B will be provided. When you are ready to leave I will make sure that your transportation to the ferry is arranged.
Cross the Bay Bridge and continue south on the Eastern Shore via U.S. Route 50 to Salisbury.
Take US Route 13 South to Maryland Route 413 below Princess Anne.
Continue on Route 413 South to Crisfield. Stay on 413 all the way to the end.
Take US Route 13 South to Maryland Route 413 below Princess Anne.
Continue on Route 413 to Crisfield. Stay on 413 all the way to the end.
Take US Route 13 North to Pocomoke City Maryland.
Two miles beyond the Pocomoke River bridge, turn left onto Maryland Route 667.
Follow 667 to the town of Marion Station, Maryland and the intersection of Maryland Route 413.
Turn left and continue south to Crisfield. Stay on 413 all the way to the end.
